Dear Colleague,
The coming crisis in geriatric mental health and the critical need to bring more researchers into the field was initially highlighted by Jeste et al in 1999 (Arch Gen Psychiatry. 1999;56:848-853). Following this seminal publication, other authors have stressed the importance of mentoring and career development tools to further the development of geriatric mental health researchers. MedEdMentoring.org has been designed from its inception to provide these tools and to be a sustainable mentoring education resource. Registered users can access the site to launch, maintain, and enhance their career development in geriatric mental health research.
Over the next few weeks, we will be e-mailing a short questionnaire to our newsletter subscribers asking your opinion about the tools and materials offered on MedEdMentoring.org and how we can improve the site. We appreciate your feedback and interest and are looking forward to hearing your views.
Sincerely,
Stephen J. Bartels, MD, MS; Martha L. Bruce, PhD, MPH; Maureen Halpain, MS; Barry D. Lebowitz, PhD;
Charles F. Reynolds III, MD; Gwenn Smith, PhD; Joel E. Streim, MD; Jürgen Unützer, MD, MPH, MA
