Dear Colleague,
Academic researchers are often faced with the dilemma of how to keep moving forward in one's career without sacrificing a fulfilling home life. In the 2007 COACHE (Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education) survey of tenure-track faculty from over 80 colleges and universities, both male and female faculty reported low levels of satisfaction with their institutions in the category of work-family balance. [1]
For some ideas on how to strike a balance that works, join us on May 6 for our First Tuesday teleconference, "Balancing Work/Family Responsibilities," presented by Hochang Benjamin Lee, MD. Dr. Lee will discuss the challenges researchers face when juggling work and family. Participants may ask questions during the live teleconference, or type them in advance on our site.
