Dear Colleague,

Poster sessions are usually a major part of scientific conferences, but many beginning researchers may be unaware of the importance of a good poster. A successful poster is an important showcase for you and your research; it should present your work clearly and professionally and invite onlookers to stop and ask questions. Do you know how to put together a poster that achieves these goals? Take a look at the latest addition to our Career Planner section, Poster Design, to see an example of what not to do when designing a poster. We've also included an example of a good poster and a PDF printout with poster design tips.

As always, we welcome your questions, comments, and suggestions. You can submit them to us at http://www.mededmentoring.org/contactus.asp.

Sincerely,
Stephen J. Bartels, MD, MS; Martha L. Bruce, PhD, MPH; Maureen Halpain, MS; Barry D. Lebowitz, PhD;
